About Out of The Silence

Out of the Silence is more than a trio—it’s the story of three men the Lord has allowed to sing together, in one way or another, for nearly three decades.

Jonathan Case, Michael Colquette, and Drew Tankersley didn’t set out to build something polished for its own sake. Their paths crossed over the years in different groups, different churches, different seasons of life—often singing together, then going separate ways again. But the Lord, in His timing, brought those threads together into something unified.

The name Out of the Silence comes from a line that captures both the message and the mission: “Out of the silence, the roaring Lion declared the grave has no claim on me.” That truth—the finished work of Christ and the victory He has secured—is the center of everything we sing.

We care deeply about the music. Tight harmony, thoughtful arrangements, and a sound that connects—those things matter to us, because they serve the moment and help people lean in and listen. But we’re not driven by production or performance. Our aim is simple: to be clear, to be sincere, and to make much of Christ.

Whether we’re in a small church, a larger venue, or a room full of people who came mainly to hear good music, we try to handle each setting with care. We want people to feel welcomed, not overwhelmed—drawn in, not distracted. Some may come for the sound, and that’s alright. Our hope is that what stays with them is something deeper: truth, encouragement, and a clear picture of the gospel.
